This emote contains material determined to be unsuitable for FrankerFaceZ. No nudity or vulgar/offensive material is allowed.
Please, whoever is reviewing this, hear me out. This emote was removed a while back because one user on Twitter called it racist and dan salvato responded. Original tweet: https://i.imgur.com/i4XJE0T.jpg As you can see, this Twitter user got "ratio'd," meaning their opinion was so wrong that they had more replies than likes. In the image, 50+ replies and 0 likes. Nobody agreed with them, because they're just wrong. They have since deleted their tweet because they know they're wrong. The emote is not racist in any way. Since the remove of this emote, cmonBrug has been missed by the Twitch community. In Twitch chats such as xQc's it represent the faction called the "Bruggers," and Twitch chat wars broke out between the Moxxers (5Head), Bruggers (cmonBrug), Nammers, (NaM), Manners (MaN), Komrades (KKomrade), and Crabbers (crab emoji). It was probably the most popular Twitch chat faction before its removal. Some people have missed this emote so much, that they tried to bring it back. xQc had xqcBrug, which was an edit of his xqcMood emote distorted in a similar fashion to cmonBrug, but it wasn't the same. An important point to hit in my opinion is that the cmonBrug emote was approved by Twitch and exists as a subscriber emote on at least one channel. I've seen it pop up in some chats every once in a while over the past 2 weeks. Twitch believed that the cmonBrug was suitable for Twitch, yet ffz did not allow the emote? This doesn't make much sense to me. I know they don't operate on the same policies necessarily, but I'd expect if the emote was actually racist, Twitch wouldn't have approved it. I do not think racist emotes should be allowed on ffz. A while back, there was an emote called TriHands that depicted the TriHard emote holding a watermelon slice and a chicken finger. It was removed from ffz, and for a good reason. It perpetuates a black stereotype. However, cmonBrug is not racist. It was not used in a racist way when it was on ffz. There are edits of the Twitch emote cmonBruh on this website that are similar to cmonBrug such as HYPERBRUH, OMEGABRUH, cmonBrother, HYPERBRO, etc. It (cmonBruh) is an iconic emote like Kappa, TriHard, and PogChamp, and as a result is has a lot of variatons on BTTV and ffz. cmonBrug is similar to OMEGALUL, OMEGABRUH, etc... it's distorted, likely using the Photoshop liquify tool. It's a popular emote trend, and it can make for some silly emotes. To stick by the decision to ban cmonBrug on ffz would be stubborn. It is not vulgar or racist, and the vast majority of people would agree that it's not racist in any way. It is your decision ultimately whether to withhold this beatiful, beloved emote from the community or to allow Twitch users to unite in using the emote, but I respect your right as a private organization to operate by your own policies, regardless of whether they make any sense to most people. I'm sorry for being passive aggressive or rude, I'm grieving the loss of cmonBrug. Anyway, thank you for considering adding the emote on behalf of all of Twitch <3
